Set Your Mindset

Getting in the mindset to motivate your success is a daily task. As a business owner, we all usually forget to give ourselves oxygen first. Daily tasks and deadlines cause restraints and we often forget to stay on track with our original goals. So how do you do it? What is the basic framework for keeping on in a world that doesn’t stop? Setting your mindset is the answer.

How do you set your mindset everyday? The proper mindset needs to be coddled like a baby. After all, your business is a baby. Growing and maturing into what you always imagined it would become. Without a strict plan of action the struggle becomes greater and you wind up driving around in circles. So let’s break it up into a two part: setting Your Goals aka: roadmap/blueprint and then resetting you mindset everyday to them.

STEP ONE
Setting your goals should include immediate and long time goals. They can be broken down into the following Main Categories:

What I like to do is take the main categories and break them down further. This is where you can get specific to your particular goals which leads to your goals being S.M.A.R.T.

Now review your goals by making sure they are S.M.A.R.T.

Now that your goals are set and you have confirmed they are S.M.A.R.T.  you can proceed to the second part of setting your goals and ensuring you stay on track: The Mindset Motivation part! The Mindset Motivate is where you will create your daily habits and link them to drive you to reaching your goals. You will literally be checking off your goals and gaining confidence and positive energy to fuel you throughout the process. So how do you do this? By stacking your motivational tools and having them in front of you at all times, just like your goals.

STEP TWO

Create a list of “How To Get Back To YOU” This should include anything that rejuvenates you, clears your mind and resets your motivation. The world has become extremely negative these days. Not having these weapons close is like going to battle without your guns. So make a list of the WHO, WHAT, WHY, WHERE AND HOW’s that throw dirt on your pretty burning fire. Avoid them! If it’s your office, fix it. Surround yourself in clutter if that fuels you, or clean it up for order to keep focused. If it’s people or social media set your time restraints. Make a rule to NOT go on Facebook, Instagram or any other outlet that sucks the life out of you. You’re business needs you and you need to prioritize. Reward yourself with a login after you accomplish a small goal. This is a great way to track your performance too!  I find the easiest way to keep on track is staying away from my phone. Whoever said “Silence is golden!” must have known about social media and cell phones long ago. If it is a life situation beyond your control seek help. Help comes in many forms these days. There literally is an app for most of the things we need mentally. Practice being mindful by scheduling your breathing time and moving time right into your calendar. Add your workouts and goal-tracking reminders too! If you set your time bound goals correctly they should be alarming you on the day you will complete them. I like making the alarm of that one one of my favorite songs.  I makes your own little celebration better when it goes off! Let’s face it, running a business can be lonely so have fun with these things. Laughing and smiling makes the trek easier.

Never forget, you are where you are because you have the drive inside you to get there!
